Gaga Lomidze

Gaga Lomidze - Georgian literary scholar, editor and translator. He is an Associate Professor at Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Since 2006 he is a head of the Department of Literary Theory and Comparative Studies at Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature.

The major field of Gaga Lomidze’s scientific interest includes literary theory, comparative literary studies in a broad cultural context; analysis of various literary movements, literary schools, etc.

He is an author of several books (including translated research books) and dozens of scientific articles, including: Renaissance by Peter Burke (Lega, 2000), Comments to Zaza Burchuladze’s novel “Gospel According to Donkey” (Logos Press, 2005), Total Art of Stalinism by Boris Groys (Mtsignobari, 2017), 33 Tales of Georgian Book (Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association, 2018). He is also an editor of Gagarin Generation. Six Georgian Poets (New Voices from Europe and Beyond) (Arc Publications, London, 2016).
